Nagore Street - siTigun-coffee and Tiramisu

The Setting up is quite simple, no much renovation or modification to the heritage shop lot. Just some plant and some decoration here and there, and it is created with a relax atmosphere.

We order cappuccino and cafe latte, not bad.

But the must try is their tiramisu.

During CNY 2009, we visited Jalan Nogore (Nagore Street), as we were recommend to try one of cafe located in the street.

It is located behind Penang Plaza. As you can see, it is actually street of heritage shop lot.

There is many heritage setting restaurant is that area.

But this is the purpose of our visit. It's full name is "siTigun - Bicycle Pit-Stop Cafe".

This is the boss, he said all coffee beans he used is imported from Indonesia and house roasted.

This Cheong Cia Gong Pian is famous, they ask me to come back in 1 hour time when i try to order. They bake this biscuit in a some thing that look like those people used to make naan.

All this is already booked, but luckily they argee to sell me four pieces when i told them i just want to buy a few pieces. RM0.60 per piece.

Hard and crispy.

Biscuit stuff with Onion and a hint taste of char siew (i think) . Must try!!

I think a lot of people already visited KL Pac before. Nice place....

but a lot of people (at least those that i know didn't know) that there is a Japanese Restaurant in KL Pac.

The Japanese Restaurant is just opposite this building, the other side of the car park.

Plaza Sri Hartamas Bagel Station

There is one bagel station in Plaza Damas, Mont Kiara, which we like to go for breajfast during weekend and holiday. The Shop serve very good Bagel and Coffee. They have set menu to choose from or ala carte.

We go there almost every alternative week if we are in KL. This is the set that we order for that day we took this photo. RM14.90 for 1 bagel, plus two german sausages plus one iced lemon tea.
Another one is One Bagel plus One Coffee-Black for RM5 or RM5.50. The coffee is quite good mind you, from the expresso machine and the beans used is fresh.

I was driving near the back of Muzium Negara (Jalan travers??), two Indian on a motorbike was pointing at my tire. Cos I just got a tire puncture and worried that tire puncture again. So I put on emergency light and stop on a safe place, a little far from where the two guy pointing at my type. Finding tire ok, I walk back to the my driver side of the door, then the two man drive by and stop in front of me. The one sitting at the back come down from the motorbike and walk to the passenger side and told me that they saw smoke coming from my tire and believe that my brake pump might be malfunction.

Being a little naïve and in a rush, I walk over and that guy pointed at the type and say look at the patch oil and thin smoke (thinner than a smoking cigarette maybe) and told me that the small red patch of oil is from my brake pump.

My doubtful mind kick in and I told him that is ok; I will send my car to mechanic. He replied you could send you car to a nearby store. But I rejected that and lied to him saying this car belong to my mechanic and my car is at the workshop, and so I left the scene.

And after that I check my brake oil is gold (not Red) in color, and the oil level is still at the full level.

Question hasn’t been answer is: -

1. Is my oil pump having problem (which high percentage is not), I will send to mechanic for checking just in case.
2. Is the two is trying to con me, how do we stop them from conning others??

The two guy are wearing a short sleeve navy blue jacket with “shell” wording at the back, but I forgot to take down the motorbike number.

Update

ANYWAY, I JUST HAVE MY CAR CHECK BY TRUSTED MECHANIC, NO LEAKING - NOT BRAKE NOR ANY OTHER OIL LEAK. (yes i am shouting so that everyone know what happen).

As our flight is 10.30am, we have leave the hotel early and check in in the airport. After that we went and have a cup of coffee in the hotel opposite the Airport. Surprise to find Blue mountain coffee in the hotel. HKD 38 per cup, good coffee (of course lah , blue mountain what), tasted sweetness even without the sugar or milk.

Overall the local food in Macau is very much the same as HK, in term of price and type. Of course Macau has the unique type Portuguese Chinese food that we tried in Pinocchio.

We try the curry beef & organ 牛什 with rice.

The grain is actually bigger than what we normally have in Malaysia.

The vegi is fresher and sweet too.

This clam porridge is very nice.

Balut 毛蛋 - Philipine cuisine

Have a casual conversation with someone originated from Philippine and he told me about a cuisine in Philippine call "Balut" and explain in detail how is it. He said it taste very very nice and we should try it if we ever visit Philippine.

HK Macau Trip - day 5 - the Venetian Hotel and Casino威尼斯人娛樂場

Last point of the tour is the Venetian Hotel And casino威尼斯人娛樂場. Interesting place, clear blue sky inside the plaza/hotel.

Gondola on the not grand canal and this oarsman (the gondolianer) actually sing - he sang a few Andrea Brocelli number. Not bad.

We did some shopping inside the hotel/plaza itself, the shops carry both high end and mid range brand. After that we walk to Rua do Cunha 官也街 again.

HK Macau Trip - day 5 Macau tower & Spanish Building

We visited Macau tower, yau can have a clear view of Macau and also Taipa.

Interesting part of the tower is that, on some of the part, the floor is transparent. Quite scary for some. On the bottom you can see the Golden Lotus.

Other than Bungee Jumping(cost around HKD or Macau 1188), you can also do sky walk as in this photo.

After that we visit Spanish residential area, all previous resident has all leave, and this house can be view from outside only.

HK Macau trip- half day trip-A ma Temple and Marine museum

Next visit was the A-ma Temple. We presume that it is a grand temple since the temple since the temple is such a landmark and so famous, but actually it is small temple.

there is a Macau marine Museum beside the temple. One of the exhibit.

This is a small museum at the back of the ruin Of St Paul. Interesting place, with relic and other extibite, this is the display of bone of martyr殉道者.

HK Macau - day 5 - Macau Island - casino Hopping & The half day tour

We started the fifth day - morning with some casino hopping, looking at casino. But no gambling. There is lot of casino, so we just sampling two only, The Sands 澳門金沙and Golden Dragon金龍娛樂場, nothing much to see just casino with gambling table and slot machine, no photograph was allowed inside in casino, and not much attire constrain, you can wear sandle and short. Macau is developing very fast, they are a lot of tall building under construction now, and i mean a lot.

And after that we start out half day tour with The Ruins of St Paul. (we join a tour group, but if you have more time, take your own tour, cos tour is tour - rushing from one point to another)

HK Macau Trip - Day 4- more on Rua do Cunha官也街

We had our dinner in this restaurant. Pinocchio, recommend by my colleague who came to macau few week before me, the food is OK only and not that cheap. We took fried rice and babeque pigeon and a salted fish type of fish and vegi (which is too salty to our taste.) - sorry no photo.

A local that we ask on how to get to this Rua do Cunha actually recommend this 'Amagao' , but you need to book a table ans it is full for that plus it is more expensive than pinocchio. So we went back to pinocchio.

HK Macau Trip Day 4-Rua do Cunha官也街

First place after taking clean up and resting for a while since arrivinf in Macau is walk to Rua do Cunha (Portuguese for Cunha Street; Chinese: 官也街), walking distance from our Hotel (a long walk).

On the way, there is a small chinese style Park and we rest for a while and take some photo.

Lot of souvenir shop, restaurant and etc, mostly cater for tourist like us.

There is museum and very old building in that area.

This is so call the town center of taipa island (we stay in taipa island not macau island), the street are narrow. We went there 3 time actually, first on our own, 2nd time follow the tour, 3rd time went back and buy and buy and buy.

A old temple with half of it became a sea food restaurant.

HK Macau Trip - Day 4 - Cheaper and better accomodation

We stayed in Taipa Square Hotel駿景酒店 (4 star hotel). Cheap And Good.

Look at the size of room compare to What we stay in HK. Just slightly more expensive only.

They provide a LCD TV with the capability to pay DVD and other media stored in USB devises.

Once you see this, you know you are in Macau.

HK Macau Trip - Day 4 - Shueng Wan & going to Macau

Before boarding the ferry back to Macau, we took a walk to Western Market, a Edwardian style Building built in 1906 house some souvenir shop, Fabric shop and restaurant and I believe one photo shop.

Nice building but nothing to shop inside. Surrounding that area there are a lot of other type of old shop as well. Recommend to walk around if you got time.

You can keep you bag in the automated storage box at the LG of Shueng Wan Ferry Building. It is HKD 20/30/40/50 per use depending on the size of box you want. Go back to Mtr Station and look for exit B Or C and walk long Des Voeux road and look for the building on your left.

After get back from Shek-O , we try the Trams, HKD 2 per ride.

Cross path with another trams. Also call "ting ting Car"叮叮車 cos you can hear the ting ting sound of the bell when the trams pass by. We got down at

After that it is more shopping, walk, shopping, buy buy spend spend.

In Hong Kong, we went shopping and window shopping at Mongkok, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Cheung Wan Ocean Centre and Harbor City and lot of other place, of course most of the time just walk by, cos " so many shopping centre, so little time."

Thing to shop recommend other than brand Boutique , is computer and Handphone shop near Mong Kok and Man Street (WE just pass by as the time we went there the shop not yet open).

For fashion - cheaper one, go Mong Kok, Yau Ma tei, and streets opposite Kowloon park Example Salisbury Street and nearby .

Most of the Ladies street and Man Street hawker are selling souvenir, t-shirt and of course others but they customer are tourist, might not be cheap if you don't know how to negotiate.

And If you like Sasa, there are Sasa every where, but take note, the price might be different from one Sasa to another.

HK Macau trip - Day 3 - shek o - the safety and the cleaniness

And so many rubbish bin near to each other.

My Thumb up to the government of Hong Kong in taking care of the safety of the local and tourist. And the effort the did to keep the beach clean.

The bus no 9 on the way, the whole trip from MTR and On the bus (not include the walk in the market, take around slightly more than 1 hour. Not that far comparing to the distant we have to endure if we going to any beach from KL)

Nice and clean beach.

A lot of "bay watcher (life guard)'' for a small beach. - around 5 tower to 6 tower and all with a life guard.

Not many people cos it was saturday noon time. Cloudy sky and a little bit of wind, just nice. Ahh......

I wonder who is staying in that nice house?

Big & long chili sold in the market, overall the vegetable in hong kong is Fresh and taste better. Maybe because of the soil and weather, Or maybe the fertilizer they use?

Shek O石澳 is a beachside town of several villages in the Southern District of Hong Kong. Normal tourist will not visit the place cos it is in the outskirt and it is only a beachside to them. But we went there and we like that place.

We took mtr to Shau Kei Wan 筲箕灣 and took to No 9 bus (double decker) to Shek O.

NOTE: Overall the price of thing in Shau Kei Wan is cheaper. I thick due to the fact that it is in the outskirt. Should have spend more time there.....

HK Macau - day 2 night - Star Ferry

After the Soho trip, we took the ferry back to tsim shat sui & get Mrt from there.

Another long distant walk from sheung wan 上環 to the star ferry pier. HKD 2 for the ride and it took 10 minute.

Escalator...

A lot of bars and restaurant along the way.

View from the escalator. The whole trip take around 20+ minute if you keep going till the "Mid Levels.

More shop on one of the streets. The escalators system linked many streets and housing area.

Soho is near Shueng wan and your can walk from the Mtr station, around 20 minute walk from the station, look for the sigh point to the escalator system.

SoHo ( 蘇豪)Mid-levels半山区-This place is famous for their longest escalator system in the world & the pubs and restaurants along the way. Talking about the longest escalator system, we though it has a very very long escalator, but actually it is a system of connecting escalators of varies length. And the escalators system linked many streets and housing area. You can entry and exit on each street it passes.

CAUTION: A lot of walking needed especially if you plan to walk down, advice wear good walking shoe and get a bus to get down from the Mid-levels. I walk until my sole of my feet got blister (very small problem but still....that how much walking needed)

HK macau-day 2 -Mongkok & Ladies' Market 旺角&女人街

A lot of shop and shopper. Other than fashion and cosmetics, this streets also has a lot of electrical & computer shop.

The street is closed to traffic and there are a lot people there, and i mean a lot.

A lot of people gather there and celebrate together with the star for the Olympic Torch relay. It was quite grand and motivating(at least to the local).

I believe that guy in the white track pants is 第三任香港特別行政區行政長官曾蔭權 Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen.

HK Macau Trip - Day 2 morning - MTR trip and Wong Tai Shin Temple黃大仙祠

Day 2, We just took the mtr and and walk around the shopping centre surrounding the MTR station.

We also went to Wong Tai Shin Temple黃大仙祠 but we just took a photo and gone from that place.

We saw this shop and the 1/2 price coffee - available only on friday. Of course get a large cup- very good coffee.

The name of the shop, i saw many krispy Kreme doughnut in HK.

After we come down from the peak and reach Jordon around 9.30 we had our dinner near Temple Street廟街 also call street of man(男人街) and take a walk at that place. 10 minute walk from our guest house.

Just like our petaling street.

We went to the Peak-Victoria Peak on the First day afternoon after we settle down in our guest house. Must Go. Very Nice.

We took the mtr and get down on Central (chong wan), and get a double decker bus to the peak.

The Pacific Coffee at the peak - the local Coffee Chain Shop, we tried it - good, but the serve coffee in paper cup even if you dine in, minus some point there.

We stay at a guest house near Jordan. It is very near to Jordon MTR Exit B1. superb place and cheap. Clean room, small space and small toilet. It is just like a guest house in Malaysia but only smaller. Not expecting too much for a HKD 200-300 per night room. But very convenient- walking distant to temple street and 1 stop to Tsim Sha Tsui.我們住在佐敦附近的賓館。它是非常近對Jordon MTR 出口B1. 地點極好和便宜。乾淨、空間小和小洗手間。它是像馬來西亞的賓館,但更小。每晚HKD 200-300 ,不期望太多。但非常方便在廟街附近和1站MTR就到尖沙咀.

Mrt entrance is just down stair. Recommend if you don't mind to stay at a guest house.MTR入口就在樓下.不錯的地方,如果您不介意住在賓館。

HK Macau Trip - Day 1. Hop Over from Macau to HK 香港澳門旅行- 第1天。從澳門到香港

Air asia 6.45am flight, Arrived 10.30am. Hop on bus from air port directly to Macau-HK pier to go to HK. Bus must use small change - coins (can user HK coins). Bus Stops at the left side of the air port exits.

A few buses is going to pier, just check the notice board at the bus stop or ask the local. REMEMBER TO TELL THE DRIVER U WANT TO GET DOWN AT THE PIER. Or else like us have to take another bus to get back to Pier.

Air Asia 6.45.am , 到達澳門10.30am 。巴士從機場直接地對澳門香港碼頭去香港。巴士必須使用零錢- 硬幣(能用HK 硬幣) 。巴士站-機場出口的左邊。有幾輛巴士去, 巴士站的布告牌有寫或詢問當地居民。記住告訴司機你想要下碼頭的站。要不然你就像我們必須乘其它巴士回到碼頭。

cyprus coffee/Turkish Coffee

My friend come back from Cyprus and give us two pack of Cyprus Coffee.

Utencil specially for making of Cyprus coffee (same as Turkish coffee) call Cezve. (How did i manage to get it? It's a long story....)

wikipedia has detail explanation and also touch on how to make a good cup of Turkish Coffee

It is usually serve in small cup like Expresso.

The way i making the coffee is as follow.

1. First heat the water to the point of boiling

2. Add sugar ( desired amount) and coffee powder ( 1 to 2 tea spoon full for one cup).

3. stir to dissolve

4. continue to heat till the coffee begins boiling and foams is form, remove from source of heat

5. serve in small cup

note :- Foam is important for a well prepared Turkish Coffee.

There are few other way to make a good cup of Turkish coffee, please google it.

WARNING : It is very strong coffee, drink at your own risk...

Remark:-

The coffee is roasted dark, and grounded fine.

Taste strong and spicy.

other than the halal pau, they also sell other thing- Hainanese style of food. We ordered orange juice and....There are some similarity with colesium food..

除了halal(伊斯蘭教律法的合法食物)包之外,他們也賣海南風格的食物. 我們點了橙汁及...食物與colesium有一点相似.

Tea house in the jungle?? yap!! "TEA SPA TAMAN RIMBA" It serve Chinese Tea Ranging From RM 3 To RM 6 per pack of tea. A extensive list of tea leave to choice form. Other thing is fried mee, some finger food and other. I did not order those as i just walk down from the hill and don't feel like eating too much, beside i already have a dinner arrangement. 叢林中的茶坊??是的. "TEA SPA TAMAN RIMBA".它供應範圍從每包RM 3 對RM 6 的中國茶.選擇还算多.其它食品有炒麵,小食品.....我沒有點這些. 我剛爬下山,不想吃太多, 並且我已經約了家人一起晚餐.

They impose a RM1.50 per head for table charge. (Not offset again Purchase Ok)每個人頭最低的付費-RM1.50 的開壺費.

This is the famous curry chicken in the bread that recommend by Ho Chiak (8TV). But I have known about this store way way before ho chiak recommend it ( **Ahem, *damn Proud***) 這是8TV Ho Chiak 推薦的著名金寶麵包咖喱雞.但我在ho chiak 推薦它之前,已经吃了幾次.(**ahem*驕傲***).

It is actually bread covering curry chicken (which was pack inside a white paper). 這實際上是麵包包裹著一包咖喱雞.(用白紙包著)

Good one indeed.. but don't underestimate, it is quite a big portion. This "half Chicken pack"is enough for 3 of 4 person. 好吃...但不要低估它, 它份内份量相當大, 這"半雞隻"的包裝,足夠餵飽3 到4 人.

The shop is easy to find as kampar has only a few of old shop lot.這店不會很難找,金宝的老店只有幾排而已.

CL : (Before talking to me, she was talking to someone else) put that thing here.
MI : Hello.

CL : Is that Mr Ang. Mr. Ang ching Zen.

MI : Yes, Is me. Ni Haw (how are you.

CL : Ni Haw. Right now we are in One Tak (Not One Hue meh??), so it is very noisy here. ( too noisy lah, more like a pasar, but the sound effect not bad leh)

MI: OK....

CL : Can you come to our road show now?

MI : Yes, Why? ( I was busy at that time so a little bit unpatient)

CL : Maybe you can bring along your friend, the more the merrier.

MI : Ok I will try. What time does your function start?

CL : 2pm.

No lah, This is actually water caltrop菱角, "a type of water chestnut resembling black buffalo horns" (google it!) One of the traditional food for mid autumn. Another must have is yam!! 不是啦, 這東西實際上叫做菱角,(上網google下吧!).是中秋節所谓的傳統食物,另一个是芋!!

Other famous dish is spicy fried egg plant and may vegi with seoson pork (hope you understand what is that, or else look at the new paper cutting), both we have tried but no photo was taken on that-sorry!!

It is cheap and good!! Everything include drink(we order chinese tea only) for 6 person below RM50.00 for five variety of dish.

The direction of use in the package of Singa coffee power we brought in Surabaya stated :"For an excellent cup of coffee, please use 1 to 1.5 teaspoon of Singa coffee powder, add + - 180ml boiling water and stir well..........." I was saying, "What? No filter?? Drinking coffee with the powder together???"

But guess what, when i try the coffee made by hawker in the road side, that is really how they make they coffee in Surabaya, Java.

Camera Stolen/Conned!!!!????

Hey, my Nikon coolpix 4100 was stolen or should i said conned away. Together with a lowepro bag (small black & blue in color)!!

What happen is this :-

I went back hometown for the labour day weekend. And i have leave my camera on the staircase. My bro is working from home and he put a notice providing computer services with a handphone number. So this guy actually called my bro and make sure that he is not at home.

And he walk in and told my mum that he want to send his computer for repair; and his friend is sending the computer now so he would like to wait here for his friend. Since the gate is open and he already walk in so my mum let him in to the house.

After some chit chat, he ask for a glass of water and he offer to take it himself cos he say he don't want to trouble my mum(my mum is 80+ yrs old and walk slower than normal due to pain in knee). I think in the process of getting the drink he took my nephew handphone (motorola either a C series or a E series) and also my Camera .

After that he wanted to use the toilet, but came out after a short while claiming that there are leeches in the bathroom and my mum to wash it away. My mum went to take a peek at the bathroom and fool nothing. By the time she walk out, the man is already gone.

Con Man! Con Man! how can you con a old lady???

Kuching - The Land of Cat.

We have make a trip to Kuching on Jan 2005. Nice place. Peaceful and still not too polluted.We have stay at Kingwood Hotel and since it was raining and fruit season we didn't go to much places. Fruit season-no orang utan and other animal. Raining-no trekking and jungle exploring (like we can do much exporing in the first place????).

But we went to places like water front, police muzium, cultural village, santok market and others. Overall it is a good trip... .
